DESCRIPTION:The Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hong Kong invites you to Chinese Calligraphy Workshop Year of Snake “Fai Chun” \nDate: Saturday\, 11 January 2025\nTime: 3pm – 5pm\nVenue: 3rd Floor\, Melbourne Plaza\, The Chariot Club\, 33 Queen’s Road Central \nLunar New Year is around the corner in late January – Oxbridge Society HK is proud to bring back our popular Chinese calligraphy workshop. Master calligrapher Felix Poon will be teaching members basic techniques in using Chinese calligraphy brushes & ink and writing Chinese calligraphy. Members can write “Fai Chun “(揮春) or lucky red banners for the upcoming Lunar New Year of Snake or other calligraphy pieces under Master Poon’s guidance. This is a beginners’ workshop conducted in English and is designed for adults. Coffee\, tea and sandwiches will be served. A perfect time to learn more about this local tradition\, as well as to network with fellow Oxbridge members and friends! \nCost: Members: HK$330/p; Non-members: HK$350/p (Including writing materials and calligraphy pen\, tea/ coffee with sandwiches)\nRSVP: Register and pay at the Oxbridge Society Events page \nBiography of Master Felix Poon: Born in Hong Kong\, Master Poon specializes in all 5 Chinese calligraphy scripts. Well cultivated by his father\, famed HK contemporary ink painting artist Poon Chun Wa\, Master Poon has been learning Chinese art and calligraphy since the age of 6 under several Chinese calligraphy masters. Master Poon won a gold medal in Chinese Calligraphy from the Art & Calligraphy Society Competition of China in 2014 and has received the Chinese calligraphy master title since then. \nEnquiries: Administrator (society@oxbridge.org.hk)
