Tuesday 11th June, 2013 at Club Lusitano (24/F), 16 Ice House Street, Hong Kong
Reception at 7.15pm, dinner at 7.45pm. Dress code: smart, but as fashionable as you like!
The Oxford & Cambridge Society of Hong Kong is delighted to announce that Ms Mimi Tang has accepted our invitation to be the guest speaker at a dinner talk on Tuesday 11th June, 2013 in the convivial atmosphere of Club Lusitano. Mimi has been the President of Kering Asia-Pacific since February 2012. Kering is the owner of an ensemble of famous luxury, sport and lifestyle brands including Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Qeelin and many others.
Mimi already had many years of experience in the retail and fashion industries in Hong Kong, south-east Asia and north Asia when she joined Gucci in 1998 as Managing Director for Hong Kong and China. She became the Regional Managing Director for Gucci Asia Pacific excluding Japan in 1999 and was appointed President of Asia Pacific in 2000; in 2006, she was named Chief Executive Officer. Since then she has progressed to become CEO of the Luxury Group of Kering (formerly PPR), Gucci’s parent company, and finally President of Kering Asia-Pacific. Through the years, Mimi has expanded her responsibility from managing a single brand in one country to managing multiple brands across 14 countries with more than 3,500 employees under her leadership.
Mimi will speak about her experiences both as a leading light in the world of fashion and luxury goods and as a successful female senior executive. Her talk promises to be as illuminating and entertaining for our young and chic members as for the worldy-wise and mature!
Tickets for this dinner event are HK$550 for members and HK$640 for guests, to include a three course Portuguese-style dinner and Portuguese wines. Please indicate if you have any special dietary requirements.
